我想要一杯茶。 请给我一瓶水。 这杯茶多少钱? 谢谢。 不客气。

Say what you would like

我要… is a direct and common way to state what you want. Add 请 or a polite tone where appropriate. 我想要… can make the request less direct.

Specify the quantity and container: 一杯茶 is a cup of tea and 一瓶水 is a bottle of water. Learn the whole phrase, including its measure word.

我想要一杯茶。
Wǒ xiǎng yào yì bēi chá.
I would like a cup of tea.
请给我一瓶水。
Qǐng gěi wǒ yì píng shuǐ.
Please give me a bottle of water.

Ask the price and say thanks

多少钱 asks how much money. In an obvious shop context, 多少钱? can stand alone. You can also put the item first.

谢谢 is the everyday word for thank you. 不客气 is a common reply meaning you are welcome.

这杯茶多少钱?
Zhè bēi chá duōshao qián?
How much is this cup of tea?
谢谢。
Xièxie.
Thank you.
不客气。
Bú kèqi.
You are welcome.
